This report on data cooperatives is a direct follow-up to a pivotal panel held during the 9th edition of the Science Summit at the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78). The panel was part of the session on Digital Democracy for Climate Action, which took place at the Harvard Club in New York City on September 18, 2023. The aim of this report is to contribute to the growing body of literature on data cooperatives, inspire a shift in mindset, and rekindle the original spirit of the internet—not just as a means of communication, but as a global platform for cooperation.
